Ilene Hobbs

Ilene Hobbs, age 90, of Knoxville, Illinois died at 4:35 P.M. on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at the

Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, Illinois.

Ilene was born on March 24, 1927 in Williamsfield, Illinois the daughter of Thomas A. and Julia

Eastman Maner. She attended and graduated from Williamsfield High School, then attended

Brown’s Business College. She married Norman Lee “Shorty” Hobbs on September 25, 1948 in

Galesburg, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 29, 1989.

Surviving are two sons: Brad Hobbs of Knoxville, Illinois and Fred Hobbs of Knoxville, Illinois;

one brother, Kenneth (Cheryl) Maner of Galesburg, Illinois and Opal Jean Arnold of Moline,

Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and four sisters.

She worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for many years. She loved to cook and

attended Confectionary School. She was a Librarian at the Knoxville Library.

Graveside memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, June 16, 2017 at the

Knoxville Cemetery in Knoxville, Illinois. Rev. Milton Marquith will officiate. In-Lieu of

flowers memorials may be made to Easter Seals or Mabel Woosley Grade School. Hurd-
