E. Dale Coleman, 88, of Oquawka,
IL, formerly of Monmouth, passed away at 12:15 p.m., Wednesday, July 26, 2017
at Roseville Nursing and Rehab in Roseville, IL.
He was born on August 8, 1928 in
Canton, IL, the son of Elva William and Geraldine (Hillman) Coleman. Dale was raised and educated in Knox and
Warren Counties, and attended Monmouth High School.
Dale served in the Illinois Army
National Guard from 1947-1949.
He married Shirley J. Boughton on
January 29, 1949 in Missouri, she survives.
Dale was self-employed in the
heating and plumbing business. He first
worked for Danforth Heating & Plumbing; he later started Coleman Heating
and Plumbing in 1984, retiring in 1993.
Dale loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, and hunting. He was the past president of Youngs Lake in
Kirkwood, past president of Alegra Safari Camping Club Chapter 32; he loved
traveling the United States with the camping club. Dale was also a past member of the Monmouth
Masonic Lodge, and past Scout Master of Troop 361.
Surviving Dale is his wife,
Shirley Coleman of Oquawka, IL, his children; LaQuita Coleman Jones of
Monmouth, Lynn (Sandi) Coleman of Kokomo, IN, Rhonda Coleman Munson of Bourbonnais,
IL, Randall (Laura) Coleman of Tomball, TX.
Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren,
one sister, Betty Coleman Scott of Moline, IL and several nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, sisters; Joyce Coleman, Joy Coleman, Norma Coleman Keever, one
grandson, Thomas Jones, and one granddaughter, Annie Carter.
Funeral Services will be at 3:00
p.m., Sunday, July 30, 2017 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory,
Monmouth. Visitation will be prior to
the service from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the Faith Bible
