Nicholas Daniel Ferguson, age 32, of 1220 E. Boston Ave., Monmouth,
IL passed away at 1:35 am on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at his mother's home in
Pontoosuc, IL. Nicholas was born on May 29, 1985 in Monmouth, IL to Susan M.
Ludington Phillips and Ronny L. Ferguson. He was raised in Dallas City, IL where
he attended school and graduated from Carthage High School with the class of
2006. Nicholas first worked at the Ben Franklin Store in Carthage as a stock
clerk and as a custodian. Then he was employed for many years by Warren
Achievement Center in Monmouth in the wood shop, where he also attended classes.
Nicholas was always active in Special Olympics, in both Warren Co. and Hancock
Co., where he won numerous medals and awards in various events. Nicholas was an
avid Chicago Cubs Fan.
Nicholas is survived by his mother Susan Ludington Phillips of
Pontoosuc, IL, his father Ronny (Laurie) Ferguson of Gladstone, IL. He leaves
behind his sister, Jamie Lea Ferguson of LaHarpe, IL, brother Erik (JoAnna)
Ferguson of Monmouth, IL, their children Ethan, Grace, and Max Ferguson, brother
Kyle (Jenna) Ferguson of James Town, SC and their daughter Greta. He is survived
by his paternal grandmother Donna Ferguson of Biggsville, IL and his maternal
grandmother Becky Ludington of Stronghurst, IL. Nicholas is also survived by
many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Max
Ferguson, Ralph Ludington, Evelyn Meade and by his aunt Valerie Ludington
Tutwiler.
His family will have a visitation from 9:00 -
11:00 am on Monday, July 17, 2017 at the Biggsville United Methodist Church,
followed by a Celebration of Life at 11 am. In honor of Nicholas, casual Chicago
Cubs attire is requested. The family is planning a fellowship luncheon at the
Church following the service. Cremation will then be accorded. A memorial fund
is being established for Warren Achievement Center in Monmouth, IL. To leave
