Beverly A. Sayrs, 74, of
Kirkwood, Illinois, died at 1:24 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015 at home.
She was born May 4, 1940 in
Vermont, Illinois the daughter of Virgil and Helen (Vaughn) Chenoweth. She married Maynard Parish in 1961 in
Monmouth, Illinois. She later married
Ralph R. Sayrs on July 19, 1986 in Wataga, Illinois. He preceded her in death on September 30,
1998.
She is survived by her
daughter, Michelle Parish of Kirkwood.
In addition to Ralph, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers,
Virgil Chenoweth and David Chenoweth.
Beverly graduated from
Galesburg High School in 1958. She
worked as a “number please” girl for General Telephone Company. She also worked at Formfit/Rodgers in
Monmouth and the Iowa Ammunition Plant in Middletown, Iowa for a time before
working at Maytag for 30 years, retiring in 1999.
She was a former member of
Kirkwood United Methodist Church and currently was attending First Christian
Church in Monmouth. Beverly loved
reading, crafting, bowling, and spending time with her family and friends.
Funeral service will be 1:30
p.m. Monday, April 13, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Pastor Matt Reece will officiate. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the
