Martin T. “Marty” Touchette

Martin T. “Marty” Touchette, 48, of Monmouth, passed away at 10:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 21, 2015 in Galesburg, IL.



He was born May 31, 1966 in Garden City, MI, the son of Frank and Barbara (Archibald) Touchette.  He was raised and educated in Grand Rapids, MI where he graduated from Grand Rapids Christian High School in 1984.  He later earned his Associates Degree from Davenport College in Grand Rapids, both his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Sports Management in 2004from Western Illinois University, Macomb, IL.



Marty married Lynnae Bouterse in Moline, MI on Sept. 17, 1988 and she survives.



Marty worked as the Children’s Administrator Warren Achievement, the Monmouth Review Atlas as the Sports Editor and later the Editor, Special Olympics Sports Director and recently as a substitute teacher in local schools.



He was an avid University of Michigan sports fan, especially the Wolverine Football team.  He was an avid animal lover and co-founder of the Western Illinois Animal Rescue.  He was also a staunch Democrat, who loved to debate.



Survivors include his wife, Lynnae of Monmouth; mother-in-law Linda Bouterse of Moline, MI, brother-in-law John (Michelle) Bouterse of Wayland, MI, sister-in-law Julie (Rick) Kind of Allegan, MI, nieces; Catherine Touchette of Richmond, VA, Rachel Bouterse and Laura Bouterse both of Wayland, MI, Johanna King of Allegan, MI; nephews, Christ Touchette and David Touchette both of Richmond, VA, JR Bouterse of Wayland, MI, and Robert King of Allegan, MI. 



He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Mike Touchette and Mark Touchette, and father-in-law John Bouterse, Jr.



A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 11:00-1:00 p.m. at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth.  Cremation has been accorded.  A memorial fund has been established to be designated later.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com
