Mary B. McCool

Mary B. McCool, age 88, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away at 4:00 pm on April 17, 2015 at the Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg, Illinois. Mary was born on May 27, 1926 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the daughter of Nealy and Christina Wilhelmina Anderson Stevens. She was raised and educated in Monmouth where she attended local schools and Monmouth High School. She married Howard M. McCool on July 25, 1944 in Vancouver, Washington. He preceded her in death on February 8, 1990. Mary and Howard were active in and operated the Galesburg Rescue Mission in Galesburg, IL for many years. She is a member of the Open Bible Church in Galesburg, Illinois where she lead the Senior Citizens Group. She loved gardening, canning, crocheting, and was most of all was a mother to her family. She is survived by four daughters, Judy Stinson of Galesburg, IL; Diane Layton (Richard) of Gerlaw, IL; Christy Rosenthal (Paul) of Monmouth, IL; and Valerie Conkling (Ted) of Kempton, IL. There are thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren surviving. She is preceded in her death by her parents, husband, son in law, Phillip and seven brothers and sisters.

A funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday April 22, 2015 at the Open Bible Church in Galesburg, Illinois. Interment will be in the Monmouth Cemetery. Her family plans visitation at the Open Bible Church prior to the funeral service, from 10:00 am to NOON. on Wednesday.
