Kenneth L. “Kenny” Allison

Kenneth L. “Kenny” Allison, 73, of Galesburg, died at 5:20 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015 in Amara Hospice Care in Edinburg, Texas.

He was born July 18, 1941 in Galesburg, the son of Wilbur and Bernice (Guenther) Allison.  He married Sandra N. Gross on April 8, 1961 in Galesburg.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sandra; a son, Mark L. (and Carrie) Allison of Kalamazoo, Michigan; a daughter, Kelly R. Allison of Galesburg; two grandchildren, Matthew Allison and Amanda Allison; and a sister, Bertha Bothwell of Windsor, Missouri.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his step father, Harry Bothwell, who raised him.

Kenny was a conductor for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad for 40 years.  He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1959 and was a lifelong Galesburg resident.  He was a member of U.T.U. #195.  Kenny and Sandra owned a 1930 Chevrolet and were members of the Antique Car Club.  He was also a member of the Jayco Camping Club and the Midwest RV Club.

Kenny served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1966.  He was a member of Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.  Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the chapel with Rev. David Knickner officiating.  Burial later in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.  Memorial contributions may be made to the family.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
