David W. Levine

David W. Levine, age 80, formerly of Monmouth, IL passed away at The Quarters nursing facility in Des Peres, Missouri on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at 2:25 am. David was born on May 25, 1935 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the son of Herbert E. and Pearl Walters Levine. He received his education in Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth High School with the Class of 1953. David later attended Monmouth College. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1957-1960 where he attained the rank of Sgt. David married Dorothy M. Meyers on June 21, 1958 in Monmouth, Illinois and she preceded him in death on March 17, 1985. He loved the game of golf and was an active member of Gibson Woods Golf Course here in Monmouth. David is survived by two daughters, Allison (Bill) Martin of Chesterfield, MO and Celinda (Tommy Lewis) Sage of New Boston, IL; one son, David Paul (Alison) Levine of St. Peters, MO; seven grandchildren, Rawly (Joelle) Lantz, Dustin Levine, Shannon (Kostya) Kekhaev, Holly (Mike) Schumaker, Johnny Sage, Matthew Sage, and Jack Martin; three sisters, Carol (Bob) Schoellkopf of Cincinnati, OH, Carna Mechem of Midlothian, VA, and Christa (Bernie) Sutinis of Fairview TN; and one brother, Paul Levine of Sacramento, CA. and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister-in-law, Beverly Weegar. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Dorothy.

A graveside service is planned for 11:00 am on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Monmouth.
