She married Stephen Watters on January 7, 2014 in Galesburg, he survives.
Kim was currently working at Kentucky Fried Chicken; she worked at Cherry St. Bar in Galesburg prior to that. She also worked for a time at St. Mary’s Living Square in Galesburg as a caregiver. Kim was vibrant, social person that had an infectious smile, and enjoyed making other people feel good and always loved to help others. She was an adventurous spirit who could get anyone out of their comfort zone and enjoy the little things in life such as dancing and playing in the rain.
She is survived by her husband Stephen Watters of Galesburg, her mother Sandy Ewing (Jeff) of Monmouth, her father Don McKay of Monmouth, her children; Justin Eugene Ackman, Cassady Watters, Katherine Watters, and Tyler Watters. Also surviving is her sister Keri Fitchpatrick (Derrick) of Galesburg, brother; Robert McKay of Monmouth, sister; Malissa McKay of Kirkwood, IL, grandfather; Robert Richardson of Stronghurst, IL, two uncles; Richard McKay of Monmouth, Gary McKay (Virginia) of Layton, UT, her “Soul Sister” Sarah Harvey of Kirkwood, and one niece and one nephew.
Kim was preceded in death by grandparents; Donna Richardson, Delmar McKay, Betty McKay, and Alvin Ackman.
A Gathering of Family & Friends will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Saturday, August 15, 2015 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. Cremation rites have been accorded.
