Roberta Steck

Mrs. Roberta Steck, 98, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 6:00 am Wednesday, September 23, 2015 in Monticello Nursing home in Hamilton, Illinois.

She was born May 29, 1917 in Monmouth, Illinois the daughter of Howard and Lola Law Carrier. She first married James Palmer in 1940 in Burlington, Iowa. She later married Paul Steck on June 3, 1977 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on August 13, 2002.

She is survived by her two daughters, Linda (and Bill) Robinson of Warsaw, Illinois and Paula (and Steven) Miller of Grant, Florida; one brother, Joseph Carrier of Industry, Illinois; four grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, her son, Jim Palmer, her daughter, Nancy Palmer, three brothers and two sisters.

Roberta worked as a LPN at Cottage Hospital for 18 years. She graduated from Monmouth High School in 1936 and attended Monmouth College. She was a member of the Home Extension. Roberta was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 am Friday, September 25, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Jim Richardson will officiate. Visitation will be 10-11 am Friday at the chapel.
