John P. Clark

John P. Clark, age 62 of rural Victoria, Illinois died Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois.

He was born on October 23, 1952 in Kewanee, Illinois the son of Wendell R. Clark and Anona “Nona” J. Olson. He attended and graduated from ROVA High School in 1970, he then attended and graduated from Western Illinois University. He married Mary Beth Hollinrake on August 17, 1985 in Alexis, Illinois.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Mary Clark of Rural Victoria, Illinois; his children: James R. Clark of Rural Victoria, Illinois, Anjay M. Clark of Quincy, Illinois, and Jason P. Clark of Rural Victoria, Illinois; and one sister, Natalie (David) Crittenden of Fairport, New York. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a rural mail carrier for many years in the Altona, Brimfield, Hanna City, Victoria, and Williamsfield areas. He was the founder of the Oneida Legion Post 727 Baseball Program and ROWVA High School Coach since 2002. He also coached ROWVA Freshman and Sophomore Girls Basketball, Williamsfield Middle School Baseball, Galesburg High School Girls Softball, Carl Sandburg College Softball, and many other teams. He was the former coach of the Babe Ruth League in Oneida, Illinois. He was a member of the Greater Peoria Baseball Coaches Association, the ROWVA Booster Club, and the Victoria United Methodist Church in Victoria, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 4:00 P.M. at the ROWVA High School Gymnasium. Rev. Russ Theobald officiating. Visitation will be Monday, October 5, 2015 from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Oneida, Illinois. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Oneida Legion Baseball Post 727, ROWVA Boosters, or to the Education Fund for Jason Clark.
