Lauren E. Still

Lauren E. Still, age 85, of Cameron, IL; passed away at 1:55 am at Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg, IL on October 29, 2015. Lauren was born on January 7, 1930 in Clinton, Iowa and is the son of Leland and Ethel Rodgers Still. Lauren moved to Galesburg as a boy where he was reared and educated in the Galesburg Schools. He then graduated from Galesburg High School with the class of 1949. Lauren married Lucille G Allen on June 26,1949 in Cameron, Illinois. He began farming in the area and has been an area farmer for many years. He also drove a Galesburg School District Bus for twenty-seven years. For the last twenty years he has been a Realtor and worked for Western Illinois Realty in Monmouth, Illinois. Lauren most loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and attended many of their events. He has been a long time member and active in the events of Cameron Christian Church. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Still of Cameron, Illinois, two daughters, Karen (Bill) Hassel of Burlington, Iowa and Kimberly (Ron) King in Metamora, Illinois. One son is surviving, Kevin (Anne) Still of Danville, Indiana. He has nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren also surviving. There are three sisters, Carol Hanson of Berwick, Illinois, Joan Markham of Galesburg, Illinois, and Mary (Bill) Anderson in the state of Georgia. Lauren is preceded in his death by his parents, one daughter Leanne, two infant sons, and one brother.

A funeral service is planned at 10:30 am on Tuesday November 3, 2015 at the Cameron Christian Church in Cameron, Illinois. His family plans visitation and will be present at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday evening. A memorial fund is being established for the Cameron Christian Church.
