Gloria was born October 8, 1935 in Warsaw, the son of Joseph Sylvester and Hazel Irene Miller Haneghan. Gloria attended Corpus Christi High School. She married Larry Milan in 1957 at St. Patrick’s Church in Galesburg. Gloria is survived by two sons, Jason (Carrie) Milan of Galesburg and John Milan of Abingdon and two grandsons, Heath and Michael Milan. Gloria is also survived by four brothers, Carl Haneghan, Jim (Linda) Haneghan, and Jerry (Glenda) Haneghan, all of Galesburg and Bill Haneghan of Davenport, IA; and one sister, Jane Wessels of Galesburg. Along with her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by five brothers, Leo, Joe, Robert, Leon, and Steve Haneghan and two sisters, Alice and Dorothy.
Gloria was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, belonging to the altar and rosary society and active in many church activities. Gloria worked at O.T. Johnson’s for several years, she then owned and operated her own beauty salon, Bee Luv Lee Beauty Shop. She then worked as a beautician at Mary Allen West for several years, where she retired in 2004. She was a longtime volunteer for OSF Hospice. Gloria was proud to have attended Cursillo in 1991. Gloria was a loving mother, sister, grandma, aunt and friend. She loved spending time with them. Gloria also enjoyed traveling throughout the US.
The rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg with visitation following from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Deacon Robert Rodriguez will lead the rosary. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday, November 6, 2015 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Rev. William T. Miller, IC will officiate, Deacons Jim Haneghan and Robert Rodriguez will assist. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to an education for her grandson’s education fund. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory.
