Anna Belle McCoy, age 83, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 1:30 am. Anna Belle was born on July 19, 1932 in Colchester, Illinois and is the daughter of James Henry and Alta Mae McKinnon Waller. She was raised in Colchester where she attended local schools and graduated from Colchester High School. Anna Belle married Lawrence D. McCoy on December 23, 1950 in Missouri and he preceded her in death on December 22, 2011. Anna Belle was self employed and was a homemaker in her own home. She assisted her husband Lawrence and was manager of the McCoy Repair and Body Shop until it closed. Anna Belle also ran the finance side of their rental property business. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Anna Belle loved to read. She is survived by her grandsons, James P. (Carol) Davis of Galesburg, Illinois and Michael Brewer of Monmouth, Illinois, her great grandson Zachary D. Brewer and great granddaughter, Faith E. Davis. Five sisters are surviving, Helen (Ocie) Baldwin and June (Ben) Mecum both of Roseville, IL; Imogene Plate of Good Hope, IL; Della Mae Mohr of Arbela, MO; and Evelyn Waller of Taylorville, IL. Two sister in laws survive, Patricia and Clydene Waller. Anna Belle is also survived by close friend, Julia Brewer of Galesburg, IL. She is preceded in her death by her parents, husband, one daughter Joyce, four brothers, and two sisters.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, IL. Her family will receive friends from 9:00-10:30 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Warren County Memorial Park.
