Janice L. Vander Hyden, age 60, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at the
Roseville Nursing and Rehab Center in Roseville, on Saturday, February 13, 2016
at 12:15 pm. Janice was born on March 2, 1955 in Monmouth and is the daughter of
LeRoy "Pete" and Ruth Eloise Rutledge Taylor. She attended the Monmouth Schools
and graduated from Monmouth High School with the class of 1973. She married
Steve M. Vander Hyden on February 18, 1978 at the Foursquare Gospel Church in
Monmouth, Illinois. He is surviving. Janice first was employed by Dr. Comer, an
Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist in Ft. Myers, Florida. She then worked in the
county treasurer's office in Ft. Myers as a currency handler until her
retirement. While in Monmouth, Janice was a member of the Monmouth Junior
Women's Club, and enjoyed walking in both, the Ft. Myers and the Monmouth
communities. She is survived by her husband, Steve L. Vander Hyden of Monmouth,
IL and her son, Doug (Clarissa) Vander Hyden of Monmouth. There are two
grandsons, Joshua and Jacob Vander Hyden, both at home, and her mother survives,
Eloise Taylor, also of Monmouth. Her sister, Denise (Jim) Olson also is
surviving and lives in Alexis, Illinois. Her sister in laws survive, Pat
Hackspacher and Marilyn Nickols, both of Monmouth, IL. A number of nieces and
nephews also are surviving. She is preceded in her death by her father and two
brother in laws, Martin Hackspacher and Larry Nickols.
A gathering of her family and friends is planned on Friday, February 19, 2016
at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth where her family will receive friends from
5:00 to 7:00 pm. Cremation will then be accorded. A memorial fund is being
established by her family and may be left at the funeral home. To leave a
