Wilbur
“Buster” T. Perry, age
79, of Knoxville, Illinois died at 4:18 P.M. on Saturday, November
26, 2016 at OSF St. Mary’s Medical Center. Galesburg, Illinois.
He
was born on March 12, 1937 in Solway, Kentucky the son of William
McKinley and Delila (Spencer) Perry. He married Barbara Hutson on
July 28, 1961 at the First United Methodist Church in Knoxville,
Illinois.
Surviving
is his wife, Barbara Perry of Knoxville, Illinois; two sons: John T.
(Pam) Perry of Knoxville, Illinois and Roger A. (Stephanie) Perry of
Knoxville, Illinois; one daughter, Karen M. (Jeff) Stern of Big Lake,
Minnesota; nine grandchildren: Marcus Allen, Matt Allen, John Michael
Perry, Logan McKinley Perry, Maranda Marie Perry, Jordan Allen Perry,
Alexis Stern, Rachel Stern and Trevor Stern; and two great
grandchildren: Lila Allen and John August “A.J.” Perry. He was
preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and four brothers.
He
began working for Midwest, then Admirals and retiring from Maytag for
39 years as a paint repairman. He was a member of the First United
Methodist Church in Knoxville, Illinois and he served in the United
States Army Reserves. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and watching TV.
Visitation
will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 29,
2016 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in
Knoxville, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on
Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes &
Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois, Rev. Chet Travis and Dan Lybarger
will officiate. A fellowship luncheon will follow the funeral
services at the First United Methodist Church in Knoxville, Illinois.
Interment will be at the Knoxville Cemetery in Knoxville, Illinois
Memorial contributions may be made to the Frist United Methodist
Church in Knoxville, Illinois. Online
