William “Bill” J. Osborn

William “Bill” J. Osborn, 58, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 2:53 a.m., Sunday, May 7, 2017 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, IL.

He was born on November 19, 1958 in Monmouth, IL, the son of Glenn and Ewilda (Morrel) Osborn.  Bill was raised and educated in the Monmouth area and attended Yorkwood and Monmouth schools and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1976.

Bill worked as a mechanic all of his life.  He first worked at Munson Transportation in Monmouth, later working at DeFord Automotive in Monmouth, and most recently at Jones Automotive in Monmouth.   Bill was a true car enthusiast; he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving Bill are three sons; Danny (Tiffany) Osborn of Little York, IL, Brian (Christy) Osborn of Alexis, IL, Craig (Kelli) Osborn of Little York, IL; nine grandchildren, and two brothers; David Osborn of Monmouth, and Michael (Wendy) Osborn of Maryland. 

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Bill was an organ and tissue donor with the Gift of Hope, and was able to offer a precious gift to others, the hope for a new life.

A Celebration of Life will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the Little York Community Center (106 East Main St, Little York, IL).  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials can be made to the Bill Osborn Memorial Fund.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, is in charge of the arrangements.  For more information or to leave an on-line condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com.
