A. Paul Magee

A. Paul Magee, 61, of Raritan, IL passed away at 3:40 AM Saturday, July 1, 2017 at his home. He was born December 15, 1955 in Burlington, IA the son of Orval L. and Barbara Scholz Magee. On April 17, 2010 he married Brenda Switzer in Raritan, IL.

Paul was a lifelong resident of Henderson County. He was a 1974 graduate of the Southern High School. He was a mechanic for C.E. Neff Company in Stronghurst for many years, Heritage Equipment in Macomb, IL, and later owned and operated Magee Ag Repair in Raritan. He was always doing something even when he wasn’t working.

Paul loved John Deere Tractors and attending tractor pulls with his 4010, 530 and his garden tractors. He, or anyone who knew him would say his blood ran green. Paul enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting and camping. He was a member of the Raritan Fire Dept.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda, four children, Amy (Dan) Farris of Smithshire, IL, Kevin Magee of Raritan, James (Carrissa) Lozier of Bloomington, IL, Nicole (Brett) Rollins of Lawndale, IL, nine grandchildren, Dakota, Ellie, Jess, Emma, Alyssa, Cameron, Alexia, Vanessa, Dawson, one great-granddaughter, Sierra, his father, Orval, three brothers, Ronald (Jennifer) Magee of Platte City, MO, Dwayne (Carla) Magee of Raritan, Darryl (Lori) Magee of LaHarpe, IL, three sisters, Diana Parrish of Quincy, IL, Patricia (Mark) Irish of LaHarpe, Elizabeth (Tim) Smith of LaHarpe, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara, one son, Jesse and his grandparents.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst. Burial will follow in the Carman Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 10:00 AM Thursday where the Family will greet friends from Noon until the time of Service. A memorial fund has been established for the family.
