Timothy
N. Riggs, age 48, of Gilson, Illinois died at 1:17 A.M. on Friday,
June 30, 2017 at his home in Gilson, Illinois surrounded by his
family and friends.
He
was born on October 16, 2017 at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg,
Illinois the son of Marvin and Margeret J. Burlile Riggs. He married
Donnette Ennis on September 17, 1991 in Galesburg, Illinois.
Surviving
are his children: Ryan Riggs of Knoxville, Illinois, Jacob Riggs of
Gilson, Illinois and Madison Riggs of Monmouth, Illinois; one
grandson: Gauge Riggs of Knoxville, Illinois: his brothers and
sisters: Melody (Johnny) Wells of Maquon, Illinois, Linda (Jessie) De
La Cruz of Galesburg, Illinois, Terry (Pauline) Riggs of Braidwood,
Illinois, Mark Riggs of Knoxville, Illinois, Gloria (Leslie) Riggs of
Maquon, Illinois, Jeffrey Riggs of Chicago, Illinois, and Larry
(Beth) Burlile of Asland, Pennsylvania. Many nieces and nephews; best
friends: Shaun Cooper of Knoxville and Joshua Smith of Knoxville,
Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister:
Deborah Howard.
He
served in the United State National Guard in the 123rd
Field Artillery. He served on the Knoxville Community Fire Protection
District for 22 years. He was a member for the Kuk Sool Won of
Knoxville, Illinois. He coached youth in tee ball, baseball and
softball in Knoxville, Illinois. He enjoyed fishing; he was an avid
Cardinal fan and NASCAR fan. He collected Eagles and beer steins.
Visitation
will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, July 3, 2017 at the
Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois.
Graveside memorial services will be held on at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday,
July 4, 2017 at the Williamsfield Cemetery, Williamsfield, Illinois
with a procession gathering at the funeral home at 10:00 A.M.
Inurnment will be at the Williamsfield Cemetery in Williamsfield,
Illinois with military rites conducted by the Williamsfield American
Legion Post Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the Knoxville First
Responders for a Suction Unit. Online condolences or expressions of
