Dolores J. “Dee” Huston, 79, of
Monmouth died at 7:15 P.M. Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at the Fort Armstrong
Center for Supportive Living in Rock Island, IL.
She was born July 10, 1935 in
Moline, IL the daughter of Ray and Hazel Leona (Tary) Bloomfield. She was raised and educated in Viola
attending Viola Schools and later attending Beauty School.
Dee married Harold E. “Sam”
Huston in Kahoka, MO. on July 25, 1953 and he passed away on January 10, 2005.
She was a member of the First
Lutheran Church of Monmouth and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Dee worked various jobs in
Monmouth and sales positions in Galesburg including; Formfit, Warehouse Shoes,
Weaver Buick and Holmes Shoes. She owned
her own beauty shop and co-owned the Talk of the Town Clothing Store both in
Monmouth. Dolores loved to play cards;
Gin Rummy, Pitch, and Poker. She was an
avid reader.
Survivors include her son,
Schuyler R. “Sky” (Jody) Huston of Moline, IL; granddaughters, Susan (Brian)
Meisinger of Bedford, TX., Ami (Aaron) Winter of Galesburg, IL and Angi (Brian)
Martin Prudent of Moline, IL; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Romona Hughes of
Monmouth, Il and Shirley (Larry) Lafever of Milan, IL; several nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, husband, two sons, Scott Huston and Jason Huston.
Funeral services will be at 10:00
a.m., Saturday, November 15, 2014 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and
Crematory, Monmouth. Burial will be in
Viola Cemetery. Friend may call Friday
at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home where her family will be present from 5:00-7:00p.m. Memorials may be given to the First Lutheran
