Eva L. Johnson

Eva L. Johnson, 88 of Abingdon, died at 3:56 P.M. Friday, November 21, 2014 at Care Center of Abingdon, Abingdon, IL.

She was born on December 2, 1925 in Rushville, IL to Michael and Ruth Schultz Bell.  She married Loren Johnson in Kahoka, MO, on November 20, 1941.  He preceded her in death on June 4, 1997. 

Eva is survived by two sons, Otis Johnson of Wausau, WI and Michael (Jeannie) Johnson of Galesburg, IL; a daughter, Sharon (Roy) Swank of Abingdon, IL; two daughters-in-law, Barb Johnson of Abingdon, IL and Debra Johnson of Rock Falls, IL; eighteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.  She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Nova Johnson of Kingston, IL; and a brother-in-law, Robert Bower of Knoxville, IL. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four sons, Carl, Joseph, John, and Larry Johnson; a daughter-in-law, Caroline Johnson; three brothers; and one sister.

Eva was a homemaker.  She was a lifetime member of the Midwest Country Music Association.   

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 24, 2014 from 1:30 PM. To 3:30 PM at the Hurd-Hendricks Fellowship Center, Knoxville, Illinois.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
