Liane Enderlin Shunick, age 82, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 11:35
am on Friday, November 14, 2014 in Brentwood, Missouri. She was born on December
2, 1931 in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of Lawrence and Verna (Noonan)
Enderlin. Liane attended Ottumwa Heights College and received her BA from
Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. On July 23, 1955, she married
Thomas James Shunick and he preceded her in death. Liane spent her career as a
teacher, educating children at St. Mary's and Seton Grade Schools in Moline,
Illinois. She enjoyed reading and traveling. Liane is survived by two sons;
Richard (Karen) Shunick of Chicago, IL and Michael Shunick of Tucson, AZ, one
daughter; Sheila (Michael) Shunick Burton of Webster Groves, MO, grandchildren
Thomas Shunick Burton, Molly Shunick Burton, and Caroline Shunick Burton, two
brothers; Larry (Alice) Enderlin of Monmouth, IL and Fr. Ron Enderlin of Lacon,
IL. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 20,
2014 at Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth, Illinois. A visitation is
planned from 5:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Turnbull Funeral
Home in Monmouth. The Rosary will begin at 5:15 pm during the visitation.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Monmouth. Her family has established
memorials with Join Hands ESL of East St. Louis, MO or Sisters of Humility of
Mary in the Quad Cities, in honor of Sr. Marie Ancille, Sr. Madeline Marie and
