Lori Ann Garner-Millard, age 53, of Oquawka, Illinois
passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 4:20 am at the Mayo Clinics
in Rochester, MN after a brief illness. She was born on July 8, 1961 in
Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of James Leroy and Mary Lou (Colopy)
Garner. Lori attended school at Harding and the Junior High School and
attended Monmouth High School with the class of 1979. She attained her
GED at the age of 38. She was first married to James Spiker. She later
married Donald Eugene Millard II in Oquawka, and he is surviving. Lori
began work at the Clark Gas in Oquawka, Illinois. She continued
with them as general manager, and managed six stations including the
one in Monmouth, Illinois. Lori, in July of 2012, bought the "Twist and
Shout" in Oquawka, Illinois which she operates to the present. Lori
never worried about herself, only her friends, and loved her cats. She
was all about her friends and her grandchildren and only knew a friend.
Lori is survived by her husband, Donald Millard of Oquawka, two
daughters; Amber (Luke) Marston of Aledo,IL and Jamie (fiancé Brad Bell)
Spiker of Oquawka, IL, one son; Nicholas J. Garner of Oquawka, IL, and
step-children; Justin "Sam" (Samantha) Millard and Ryan (fiancé Kayla
Hillman) both of Oquawka, IL, and seven grand children. She is preceded
in death by her parents, grandparents, and a number of other cousins,
aunts and uncles.
A Memorial Service is planned for 2:00 pm on Wednesday , November 5, 2014 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, IL. Cremation
is being accorded in Minnesota. A memorial fund is being established by
