Sandra Claeys

Sandra Claeys, age 74, passed away at 6:00 A.M. Sunday, November 2, 2014 at Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg, Illinois.

 

Sandra was born August 25, 1940 in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of Carl W. and Edith M. Rickords Lind.  She married Eddie Claeys, Sr.

 

Sandra is survived by her children; Kevin (Tammy) Claeys of Galesburg, IL, Camiel Claeys, Jr. of Galesburg, IL, Eddie Claeys, Jr. of Galesburg, IL and Joey Claeys of Galesburg, IL.  Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren and thirty-six great grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Claeys, Sr. on May 31, 2003; her parents, a daughter, Berlinda Rusher, two sisters, Joan Hinkson and Anne Havens and two brothers, Gene Lind and Chow Lind.

 

She worked and retired from St. Mary’s Square.  She loved playing bingo, watching NASCAR with her husband and crocheting.  She also enjoyed going for a joy ride on the weekend. 

 

Cremation rites will be accorded.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, IL. The graveside service will be on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Galesburg, IL.  Chaplain Vince Marolla will  officiate the service.    Following the graveside service, family and friends are welcome to attend a fellowship at the Bethesda Baptist Church, 210 S.
