William “Bill” Eiker would like to let you know that his work here is done. He received a call from his daughter Leanne on her birthday, November 24th, which he couldn’t refuse, for a hunting and fishing trip that will last for eternity. This trip comes with the guarantee of the biggest geese and walleye, plus a reunion with family and friends he has not seen in a long time. He was also promised no more counting of his sugars and all he can eat of his mother’s homemade fried chicken and gravy.
He was born on January 26, 1933 (81 years old) in Knoxville, IL. He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1952. After high school he joined the US Army in 1953 and was stationed in Okinawa for 3 years. He married Janet Roselle on January 1, 1956. He developed Eiker Acres in Knoxville, Illinois.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Eiker and three daughters: Sara (Bill) Barnato of Peoria, Illinois; Susan (Steve) Bell of Galva, Illinois; and Joni (Tim) Bradshaw of Peoria, Illinois. The grandchildren include Drs. Sara (Antonio) Giordano and Jennifer Barnato; Rebecca, Daniel and Remington Bell; Jason, Ryan and Sean Montgomery; Amber (Brad) Fones; Hali and Megan Bradshaw. Great-grandchildren include Hope and Roger Blair; Teddy and Isabella Fones. He was preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Erma Eiker; a daughter Leanne Montgomery; and two brothers Bob and Bud Eiker and three step-brothers Richard, Russell, and Howard Wagher.
Cremation Rites will be accorded. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Grace Lutheran Church in Knoxville, Illinois. Rev. Michael D. Clark will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the family. Fellowship will follow the Memorial Services at the church.
