Mr. Floyd D. Ragsdale, 89, of East Galesburg, Illinois died at 3:25 pm
Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at his home.
He was born September 9, 1925 in Waterloo, Iowa the
son of Floyd C. and Alma B. Smith Ragsdale, He married Ruth E. Bolnow in Peoria,
Illinois on October 8, 1949. She preceded him in death on December 4, 2007.
He is survived by his sister, Frances Sam in
Plymouth, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.
Floyd is preceded in death by his parents, his
wife, one brother and one sister.
Floyd served in the US Army during WWII from
1943-1946 as Cpl. He received the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and three campaign
stars.
Floyd was a watch maker from 1949-1954. He was the
general manager of Midwest Photo Service for 26 years. He was part owner and
Vice President of Trilutions Computer Internet Center. He graduated from high
school in Michigan City, Indiana in 1943 and Bradley Poly Technical Institute.
Floyd was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Wataga. He was a charter member
of the Genealogical Society, a member of the Sons of the American Revolution
and a member of the Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Monday,
December 15, 2014 at the Faith Lutheran Church, Wataga, Illinois with Rev.
Robert Franek officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 am at the Church.
Military honors will be held at the Church following services. Burial will be
in Manlius Cemetery, Manlius, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Faith
