Mrs. Iva D. Steward, 72,
of Galesburg, Illinois died 5:35 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at
her home.
She was born December 16,
1941 in Conway, Arkansas to Nathaniel and Rozie Howard Stanley.
Surviving are three sons,
Michael Steward, Jr. of Columbia, South Carolina, Ivan Craig Steward
and Justin (and Robin) Roberson both of Galesburg, a brother, Thomas
Stanley of Conway, Arkanas, three sisters, Maureace Taylor of
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Marvell French of Macomb, Illinois, and
Deborah Harvey of Galesburg and nine grandchildren. She is preceded
in death by her parents and three brothers, James , Clee and Joe
Stanley.
Iva graduated from Pine
Street High School in Conway, Arkansas in 1958. She was an assembler
for Maytag in Galesburg for over 32 years. She later worked as a
cashier at Knox College, Galesburg. She was a member and very active
in Community Temple Church of God in Christ in Galesburg. Iva enjoyed
fishing in her free time.
Funeral service will be 11
am Saturday, December 13, 2014 in the Community Temple Church of God
in Christ. Rev. L.V. Cliff will officiate. Visiation will be
9:00-11:00 am Saturday at the church. Burial will be in East Linwood
Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Community Temple Church of God
