Mary Ann McNamara

Mrs. Mary Ann McNamara, 102, of Galesburg died at 3:35 PM Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Heartland Health Care Center, Galesburg.

She was born on July 10, 1912 in Morris, Illinois to Lorenzo and Magdalena Silotto Giannini.  She married James F. McNamara on April 30, 1940.  He preceded her in death on November 3, 1988.

Mary Ann is survived by a step-son, Francis E. McNamara of Wisconsin; three nephews; six nieces; nine grand-nephews and six grand-nieces.  She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

She worked at the Blue Bell in Abingdon, Ford Hopkins, Walgreens, was the fountain manager at Woolworths in Galesburg and was a lunch room supervisor for CUSD #205.  She was a member of First Christian Church, the former Elkettes Lodge #894, Circle 2, Grandmother Club, Galesburg Women’s Club and a Mother and Friend of KCCDD.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, December 8, 2014 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Greg Fitch officiating.  Visitation will ½ hour prior to the service at the Chapel.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Knox County Humane Society.  Online condolences may be left at www.h-p-w.com.
