Michael Dale Hillier

Mr. Michael Dale Hillier, 52, of Quincy, Illinois formerly of Galesburg, Illinois died at 2:03 PM Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Blessing Hospital, Quincy with his mom and sister at his side.

He was born on November 27, 1962 in Galesburg to Prudence G. Gunther and Bernard M. “Mick” Hillier.

Michael is survived by his mother, Prue Hillier of Galesburg and his father, Mick Hillier of Florida; a sister, Melissa (and Brian) Pettit of Galesburg; a niece, Molly Pettit and a nephew, Jakob Pettit.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dale and Marie Gunther and George and Delores Hillier.

Michael worked construction.  He was a 1981 graduate of Galesburg High School.

Mike loved his family as much as they loved him.  He was especially proud of his nephew Jakob and niece Molly.  He enjoyed spending time at the river and building.  Mike was always a man willing to help others.

Private funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Pastor Sarah Wanck officiating.  Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM Monday, December 8, 2014 at the Chapel.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Blessing Hospital, Habitat for Humanity or a charity of the donor’s choice.  Online condolences may be left at www.h-p-w.com.
