Joyce S. Dunblazier

Mrs. Joyce S. Dunblazier, 84, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg.

She was born on April 12, 1930 in Knoxville, Tennessee to Hobart and Margaret (Cornet) Smith. She married Kenneth Dunblazier on June 4, 1955 in Knoxville, Tennessee. He preceded her in death May 31, 2012.

She is survived by a son, Craig Kenneth Dunblazier of Galesburg and a granddaughter, Caitlyn (and Andrew) Nelson. She was preceded in death by a son, David Wayne Dunblazier in 1989; a brother, Kyle Smith and a sister Betsy Coggins.

Joyce was a secretary at the Barash and Stoerzbach Law Firm and an Administrative Secretary at DCFS, State of Illinois.

She was a 1948 graduate of Knoxville (TN) High School. She loved to travel and shop. She collected Hummel figurines and was committed to her family. She was a member of First Lutheran Church.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Pamela Marolla officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Activity Fund at Heartland Health Care Center.
