Gaylord W. Sargeant, 84, of
Galesburg, died at 12:58 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015 in Marigold Health
Care Center.
He was born October 17, 1930
in East Galesburg, the son of Wilbert D. and Maybelle W. (Stevens) Sargeant.
He worked for Rowe
Manufacturing for 27 years. He moved to
Carman, Illinois and worked for Modern Welding for 19 years. He enjoyed helping others and fishing was his
passion.
Surviving is one son, Mark
Sargeant of Peoria; three daughters, Debra (and Gregg) Hart of Galesburg,
Melodee (and James) Donlan of Carman, and Gayla (and Jim) Howard of Burlington,
Iowa; one brother, Clarence (and Brenda) Sargeant of Galesburg; 10
grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; two sisters,
Donna Foster and Sylvia Dobson; and one son, Joseph Sargeant.
Visitation will be 9 to 10
a.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. with
Rev. Milton Marquith officiating. Burial
will be in East Linwood Cemetery.
