Mrs. Emma M. Mason, 88, of
Galesburg passed at 6:46 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Galesburg Cottage
Hospital.
She was born September 16,
1926 in Conway, Arkansas To Early C. and Della Helton Bunting. She married James Mason Sr. on August 17, 1941
in Conway, Arkansas He preceded her in
death in 1973.
Surviving are six sons, James
(Sandra) Mason Jr. of Humble, Texas, Bobby (Regina) Mason of Milan, Illinois,
Bruce Mason of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Terry (Wanda) Mason of Portland,
Oregon, Anthony Mason of Portland, Oregon and Raymond (Yolanda) Mason of
Vancouver, Washington; four daughters, Jean (Henry) McCorkle-Anderson of
Conway, Arkansas, Robin (Rickey) Mason-Parker of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Felicia (Lemuel)
Nichols-Cook of Conway, Arkansas, and Tina Mason of Galesburg. Emma also had 51 grandchildren, 81
great-grandchildren, 23 great-great grandchildren and a special friend, Robert
“Bob” Nichols of Jackson, Mississippi. She
was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Linda Mason; four brothers,Samuel,
Edward, Clevland and Amos Bunting and four sisters, Hattie Givans, Alice
Parnell, Coreda Ryan and Eddie Faye Love.
Emma was a homemaker and also
worked for Knox County Housing Authority.
She was a faithful reader of the Bible.
She was very happy with family and friends. She loved gardening, her pets, cooking and
traveling.
Funeral service will be 11
a.m. Friday, February 6, 2015 at First Baptist Church, Galesburg. Rev. Jerry Cato and Rev. Jon Sibley will
officiate the service. Visitation will
be 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg. Repass following the burial will be at First
Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to
