Sandra M. Snyder

Sandra M. Snyder, age 71, of Oneida, Illinois died at 12:53 P.M. on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, Peoria, Illinois.

 

She was born on September 9, 1943 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Bruce and Ruth Amy Harmison Gehring. She attended and graduated from ROVA High School; attended one year at Western Illinois University and one year at Northern Illinois University. She married William Snyder on November 3, 1963 at the United Methodist Church in Oneida, Illinois.

 

Surviving is her husband William Snyder of Oneida, Illinois; two daughters, Michelle (Kevin) Erickson of Oneida, Illinois and Noelle (Greg) Murray of San Diego, California; four grandchildren, Andrew and Colin Erickson and Parker and Elizabeth Murray; two sisters, Sherry (Rollin) Swanson of Rio, Illinois; Louise (and the late Earl) Nelson of Orion, Illinois; one brother, Gary (Marlene) Gehring of Galesburg, Illinois; nieces, nephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

 

She was a secretary at ROVA for 21 years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Galesburg, Illinois; volunteered at the Cottage Corner, Knox County Habitat for Humanity, and she enjoyed sewing, playing the piano and bowling.

 

Memorial Services will be held at  2:00 p.m. on February 15, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Galesburg, Illinois. Rev. Sarah Wanck and Jordan Knight will officiate. Inurnment will take place at a later date at the Oneida Cemetery, Oneida, Illinois.  In-lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Knox County Habitat for Humanity or the Richard L.
