Wanda L. Heimel

Wanda L. Heimel, 85 of Roscoe, Illinois, formerly of Abingdon, died at 6 a.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the Rock Haven Nursing Home in Janesville, Wisconsin.

  She was born on October 8, 1929 in Abingdon, the daughter of Marion and Bertha Anderson Berry, Sr.  She married Jack S. Heimel on October 30, 1954 in Abingdon.  He preceded her in death on August 14, 1987.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother Marion “Scorp” Berry, Jr., and her twin sister, Carol L. Eaton.

  Wanda is survived by her son, Jack S. (Sandra) Heimel, Jr. of Janesville, Wisconsin; and nephews and nieces and their families.

  She lived most of her life in Abingdon and moved to Roscoe, Illinois in 1976.  She worked in retail sales for many years. She was of the Methodist Faith.

  Funeral service will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel.  Rev. Jeff Robbins will officiate.  Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery.  Visitation will be from noon to 12:30 p.m. Friday at the chapel.
