Thela A. “Pete” White

Mrs. Thela A. “Pete” White, 78, of Galesburg died at 7:50 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

She was born August 24, 1936 in Atterberry, Illinois the daughter of Claude and Freda Bell Walker. She married Alan White on April 1, 1957 in Palmyra, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 26, 2006.

She is survived by her children, Bradley White of St. Louis, Missouri and Lynn (Steven) Schwab of Galesburg; her brother, Robert (Connie) Walker of Oakland Park, Florida; her sister, Karen Chaney of Manito, Illinois and four grandchildren, Derek, Brandon, Tyler and Kelly.

Pete worked in the cafeteria for Galesburg School District #205, including Hitchcock, Silas Willard and Churchill Jr. High Schools for over 25 years. She graduated from Havana High School in 1954. She was a member of the the First Church of God.

Memorial services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Dennis McQuown will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2015 at the Chapel. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery.
