Gary G.
Savage, 73, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 6:07 a.m. Sunday,
September 6, 2015 at his home.
He was
born January 31, 1942 in Hillsboro, Illinois, the son of George and
Doris Jones Savage. He married Judy Cleer Baum. He later married
Cindy Hall in Galesburg on March 7, 1998.
He is
survived by his wife, Cindy of Galesburg; his daughter, Jeana Klenc
of St. Peters, Missouri; two step sons, Shawn (and Nicole) Burns and
Andrew Burns, both of Galesburg; eight grandchildren; one brother,
Michael Savage of Peoria, Illinois; and one sister, Georgie Maloney
of Flower Mound, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents.
He served
in the U.S. Navy from 1959-1963 as a PCSN E-3.
Gary
worked for Pabst Brewing Company for 19 years. He also had worked
for G & O Disposal as a garbage operator for over 23 years,
retiring in January 2012.
Gary
enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to car shows, and his grandchildren.
Cremation
will be accorded. Visitation will be noon to 1:15 p.m. Friday,
September 11, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with
graveside service following at 1:30 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pastor Mary Runge will officiate and military honors will be offered.
