Lisa M. Cooper, age 50, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 5:35 am on
Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Richard Owen Hospice in Peoria, Illinois. She was
born on October 24, 1965 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of John C. and Clara M.
(Weston) Cooper. Lisa went to school here and attended Monmouth High School. She
began employment at Ginny's Cafe as a dishwasher. She then worked at Marigold
Nursing Home as a "Helping Hands Person" and at Butler Manufacturing in
Galesburg until it closure. She lastly worked at Circle "K" here in Monmouth.
Lisa enjoyed bingo, music, cooking, and playing the slots at the casino. She
most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Lisa is survived by one
son, DiAndre Dortch of Monmouth, one daughter, Kyleigh Dortch of Monmouth, one
sister, Paula Cooper of Monmouth, and three brothers, William (Toni) Cooper of
Monmouth, Edward Cooper of Brownwood, TX, and Raymond J. (Tabitha) Cooper of
Oquawka, IL. Also surviving is her significant other, Otis Dortch. She is
preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Carol Ann Bodeen, and one infant
brother.
A funeral service is planned for 3:00 pm on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at
Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Her family plans to receive friends from
2:00-3:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. A memorial fund is being
