Howard S. King, 70, of Alexis,
IL, passed away at 8:18 a.m., Sunday, January 17, 2016 at his home.
Howard was born on January 17,
1946 in Danville, KY, son of Eddie Elmer “Pete” King and Jessie Mae (Bennett)
Lindburg and Leslie Lindburg. He was
raised and educated in Alexis, graduating from Alexis High School in 1964.
He married Kay McGee on March 23,
1968 in Galesburg, IL, she survives.
Howard was a union brick mason,
he worked out of Peoria and Rockford, and he retired in 1994. He was a life member of International Union
of Brick Layers and Allied Craft Workers, and received his 50 year pin. Howard was a member of the NRA and the Alexis
United Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife Kay
McGee King of Alexis, son Andy (Debbie) King of North Henderson, IL,
granddaughters; Carolyn, Janelle, and Natalie King all of North Henderson,
siblings; Mike (Cindy) Lindburg of Monmouth, IL, Susan Imler of Galesburg, IL,
Alice Patterson of Monmouth, Lois (Bobby Joe) Ellis of Perryville, KY, and
brother-in-law’s Russ Alexander of Decatur, IL and Kelly McGee of
Galesburg. Also surviving are numerous
nieces and nephews and good friend Larry Olson of Alexis.
Howard was preceded in death by
his parents, and sister, Pat Alexander.
Memorial
services will be at
11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Alexis United Presbyterian
Church,
Alexis. Visitation will be prior to the
service from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the church.
Interment will be in Alexis Cemetery at a later date. Cremation rites
have been accorded. Memorials can be made to the Alexis United
Presbyterian Church or the United High School Industrial Technology
