Mary Arlene Schneider, 82, of
Galesburg, formerly of Gilson, died at 12:48 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015
at home.
She was born March 17, 1933
in Maquon, the daughter of Milton and Gladys (Lindzey) Lewallen. She married James L. Schneider on October 18,
1958 in Galesburg.
She is survived by her
husband of 57 years, James; two daughters, Rhonda Cecil of Maquon and Renee
(and Mark) Lemons of Abingdon; four grandchildren, Daphne (and Eric) Madrid of
Texas, Kenneth (and Amberlee) Cecil of Indiana, Becky (and Mickey) Oeth of
Missouri, and Robyn (and Trashawn) Mitchell of Texas; seven great grandchildren,
Spencer and Christian Madrid, Andrew and Trinity Cecil, Kiara Bey, Hunter Oeth,
and James Feltner; and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and
a step son, Michael Aplin.
Mary Arlene was a
homemaker. She had also worked at Body
Beautiful Tanning and Exercise Salon in Knoxville for a time. She graduated from Knoxville High School in
1950. She was a member of the Maquon
United Methodist Church. Mary Arlene
enjoyed flower gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, and her dog,
Bailey.
Visitation will be 10 to 11
a.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with
Rev. Krey Leesman officiating. Burial
will be in Maquon Cemetery. Memorial
