Dottie A. Peacock

Dottie A. Peacock, age 70, of Gilson, Illinois died at 3:27 A.M. on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, Illinois.

She was born on February 26, 1945 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Robert Neal and Dorothy Elaine (Danner) Risenhoover. She married Galen W. Peacock on August 20, 1970 in Abingdon, Illinois.

Surviving is her husband, Galen Peacock of Gilson, Illinois; three daughters, Cindy Marshall of Oglesby, Illinois, Dawn (Dave) Buhlig of Meredosia, Illinois, Brenda (Craig) Jones of Maquon, Illinois; ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; and one sister, Evelyn (Eldon) Simpson of Galesburg, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Robert and two grandchildren.

She worked in the area as a cook in various restaurants, and housekeeping in several nursing homes, and she was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, raising flowers in her garden, and loved being with her pets and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Interment will be in the Gilson Cemetery, Gilson, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Gilson Fire Department.
