Roberto Estrada, Sr

Mr. Roberto Estrada, Sr., 89, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 5:35 pm Thursday, February 4, 2016 in OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born November 2, 1926 in Managua, Nicaragua the son of General Alfonso Estrada and Eloisa Estrada. He married Miriam Francis Granizo on August 8, 1956 in Managua, Nicaragua. She survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Roberto (Debra) Estrada, Jr. of Galesburg, Alfred (Lucy) Estrada of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Jorge (Lori) Estrada of Nicaragua and Rafael (Amy) Estrada of Galesburg; three daughters, Sandra (Mark) Williams of Galesburg, Miriam (Bayardo) Arroyo of Los Angeles, California and Ivonne (Mark) Locke of Galesburg; five brothers, Armando, William, Reynaldo, Miguel and Antonio Estrada; two sisters, Yelba Espinoza and Christina Estrada; twenty grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Alfonso, Ronaldo and Carlos Estrada and two sisters, Gioconda and Carmen Estrada

Roberto owned and operated a coffee plantation in Nicaragua. He graduated from accounting school in Nicaragua. He attended Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Roberto loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 AM Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Rev. William Miller will officiate. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm Monday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rosary will be prayed at 5 pm. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
