John H. Robson


John H. Robson, 84, of Wataga, Illinois died on Monday, March 28, 2016 in Galesburg.
He was born on March 16, 1932 in Galesburg, Illinois to William H. and Ruth L. Sweeney Robson.  He married Chey M. Sigwalt on June 18, 1955.  She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Michael Robson of Wataga, David Robson of Springfield, Illinois and Daniel (and Tracy) Robson of Mandeville, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Jessica, Joshua and Stephanie; and a sister, Ruth Ann Robson of Ames, Iowa.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William “Mike” Robson.
John served in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1956.
He was a 1950 graduate of Galesburg High School and a 1954 graduate of Iowa State College where he was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity.
He farmed for more than 60 years retiring in 2015.
He was an avid woodworker, a Reading Buddy, a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow and a member of the University of Illinois Ag Council.  He served as a trustee for Sparta Township for 26 years.

Cremation will be accorded.  A Celebration of John’s Life will be held from 4:00PM to 6:00PM Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.  Memorials may be made to the Galesburg Rescue Mission.  Online condolences may be left at www.h-p-w.com
