Marjorie Knox, age 91, of Oxford, Florida formerly of Maquon, Illinois died at 1:21 A.M. on Monday, March 14, 2016 at Missions Oak in Oxford, Florida.
Marge was born on September 6, 1924 to Vivian and Edward Ashton in Farmington, Illinois. She graduated from Farmington High School at the age of 16. She married Walter B. Knox on January 3, 1943, and they had 2 daughters: Marilyn (Tom) Anell and Linda (Randy) Rimington, both of The Villages, Florida. Her grandchildren include Julie Anell of Glendale Heights, Illinois; Brian Anell, Knoxville, Illinois; Todd (Ann) Rimington, Elmhurst, Illinois; Laura (Rudy) Jaime of Prescott Valley, Arizona. She was very proud of her 6 great-grandchildren. Marge and Walter lived most of their lives in Maquon, Illinois. Surviving are 2 sisters: Eleanor Bourke of The Villages, Florida; June (John) Heckard of Bradenton, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and 3 brothers.
Marge retired from Maytag Manufacturing in Galesburg Illinois, as a Quality Control engineer after working there for 24 years. She was an active member of Maquon United Methodist Church before moving to The Villages, Florida, in 2011. Spending time with her family was her greatest joy.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Maquon United Methodist Church in Maquon, Illinois. Visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Maquon United Methodist Church in Maquon, Illinois. Rev. Marilyn Anell and Rev. Krey Leesman will officiate.
