He was born October 7, 1949
in Moline, Illinois the son of Ronald and Louise M. Schwartzkopf Seiver. He
married Jeanne Anderson on February 14, 1970 in Oklahoma. They later divorced.
He is survived by his son,
Ronald Seiver of Marion, Illinois; two daughters, Sandra (Wayne) McDorman and
April Seiver both of Galesburg; two sisters, Marjorie Classen of Burlington,
Iowa and Pauline (Fred) Lundeen of Jupiter, Florida and three grandchildren. He
is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James and Harold Seiver.
Richard served in the US Air
Force for four years, serving in South Korea as an E4.
He worked in the kitchen for the
former Galesburg Mental Health Center. He graduated from Alexis High School in
1967 and had attended Carl Sandburg College. Richard was a member of the United
Presbyterian Church in Viola, Illinois. He was an avid reader and enjoyed
playing cards.
Funeral Services are
scheduled for 10:00 am Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West
Galesburg Chapel with Military Honors provided by VFW 2257/Legion 285 Veterans
Honor Guard. Rev. Jim Ecklund will officiate. Visitation will be 9:00-10:00 am
Tuesday at the chapel. Burial will be in Hamlet Cemetery Mercer County,
Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Defenders of Freedom Veterans Home or to
