Mrs. Katharine Lorraine Spiker, 88, of Galesburg, Illinois, died at 11:11 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born May 31, 1927 in Craig, Nebraska, the daughter of Frank S. and Judith Johnson Anderson, who had emigrated through Ellis Island from Sweden. She married James R. Spiker on June 4, 1949 in the First Lutheran Church.
Katharine is survived by her husband, James, of 66 years; her two daughters, Debbie Spiker Clark of Chicago, Illinois and Linda Jordan (John) of The Woodlands, Texas; her brother, Jack Anderson of Sebring, Florida; and four grandchildren, Kristen Clark, Stephanie Clark, Linnea Jordan, and Erik Jordan. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and James Anderson.
Katharine was a mother and homemaker. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1945. She had attended Knox College from 1945-1947. She was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority. Katharine was a member of First Lutheran Church for over 65 years.
Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon Monday, March 7, 2016 at First Lutheran Church with funeral services to follow at 12 noon Monday at First Lutheran Church. Rev. Pamela Marolla will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the First Lutheran Church. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church.
