Rita M. Spencer

Rita M. Spencer age 78, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 7:17 A.M. on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Unity Point Methodist in Peoria, Illinois.

She was born on July 7, 1937 in Avon, Illinois the daughter of Howard and Olive Blunt Jones. She attended and graduated from Galesburg High Schools. She married Ralph R. “Bob” Spencer on July 9, 1955. He preceded her in death on June 5, 2013.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading.

Surviving is a daughter, Georgenne Admire of Galesburg, Illinois; three sons, Kenneth W. (and Lisa) Spencer of Naperville, Illinois, Jeffrey (and Joy) Spencer of Galesburg, Illinois, John (and Nancy) Spencer of Las Vegas, Nevada; Eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; a brother, Harold (and Judy) Jones of Killeen, Texas and a sister, Violet (and John) Olson of Colorado springs, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Grandson and three sisters.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at East Linwood Cemetery in Galesburg, Illinois. Scattering of Cremains will be held at the East Linwood Scattering Garden.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Methodist Foundation..   Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois is assisting the family.
