Mrs. Trish M. Varner

Mrs. Trish M. Varner, 61, of Galesburg died at 8:20 am Wednesday, April 13, 2016 in Unity Point Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria, Illinois.

She was born October 7, 1954 in Galesburg the daughter of Bernard J. and Gwenlee V. Sampson Teval. She married Andy “AJ” Varner August 3, 1973 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death in 2001.

She is survived by her children, Nichole (Kyle Batterson) Varner of Wataga, Illinois Andrew and Sara Varner of Oneida, Illinois and Matthew and Jessica Varner of Altona, Illinois; her brother, Charles and Wendy Teval of Janesville, Wisconsin; her sisters, Theresa and John Ring and Sharon and Mike Malmrose all of Galesburg; her nine grandchildren, Kaitlin and Austin Batterson, Jacob, Lillie, Lexi, Ava and Allie Varner, Jacob Sedlacek and Jaylynn Elmore and nieces and nephews, Sam Malmrose and Emma Ring, Lorien Teval. Justin and Joey Saar. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Trish worked as a LPN for Galesburg Cottage Hospital for over 40 years in the Chemical Dependency Department. She had also worked for Bridgeway. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1972. She also graduated from Carl Sandburg College nursing program. She enjoyed gardening and her two dogs, Lucy and Louise. Trish loved her grandchildren and spending time with them.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Scott Cramer will officiate. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm Monday, April 19, 2016 at the chapel. Cremation will follow services with a burial in St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.
