Sylvia I. Stanley, 76, of
East Galesburg, died at 9:43 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at OSF St. Mary
Medical Center.
She was born May 24, 1939 in
Little Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of Hershel and Juanita (Fortner) Knowles.
She is survived by her husband,
Daniel Snider of East Galesburg; three daughters, Debra O’Hearn of Galesburg,
Kelly (and David) LaHood of Peoria, and Lora (and Todd Adkisson) Kinzer of
Roseville; one step daughter, Vicki Johnson of Knoxville; two step sons, Daniel
L. Snider of Alexis and William Snider of East Galesburg; numerous
grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Lenita M. Campbell in
Florida; and two brothers, Leonard T. Hale in Texas and Wayne Knowles in
Arkansas. She was preceded in death by
her parents; two infant children, Billy Ray Stanley and Sherrie Kay Stanley;
and an adult daughter, Kera Kay Takacs.
Sylvia was an assembler at
Maytag for 30 years before retiring. She
was of the Christian faith. Sylvia was
an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting, fishing, and playing slot machines at
the casino.
Visitation will be noon to
1:30 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2016 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg
Chapel. Graveside service will follow at
Calvary Cemetery in Brimfield with Deacon Dave Steeples officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Safe
