Robert E. Moore

Mr. Robert E. Moore, 88, of Blandinsville, IL passed away at 5:47 a.m. Friday May 20, 2016 at the McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, IL. He was born on November 10, 1927 in Point Pleasant Township, near Raritan, IL the son of Harvey and Bertha Rosen Moore.

Robert attended Sunny Ridge Country School near Raritan. He served in the Army during the Korean War. After his military service, he returned home and farmed all of his life in the Raritan area. He enjoyed hosting the annual Raritan Fireworks on the family farm. He collected antique tractors, was a member of the Henderson County Olde Tymer’s Association, and the Blandinsville American Legion. 

Survivors include two brothers, Lewis (Karen) Moore of Blandinsville, IL, James Moore of Macomb, IL, one sister-in-law, Margaret Moore of Normal, IL, one nephew, Lewis Lee Moore of Blandinsville, three nieces, Deborah Moore of Bloomington, IL, Kathy Moore of Normal, IL, Lynne Ann Moore of Ashburn, VA, one great-niece, Maria Moore and two great-nephews, Austin and Jackson Moore. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harvey Franklin Moore and John Edward Moore.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2016 at Banks & Beals Funeral in Stronghurst with Larry Hobby officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in the Raritan Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday.
