Darlene L. Christianson

Darlene L. Christianson, 82, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 7:49 P.M. Friday, September 23, 2016 at her home.

 

She was born on July 11, 1934 in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of Kenneth and Louise Sargeant Leighton.  She was raised and educated in Galesburg, Illinois.  She married Orvis Lamb on January 26, 1952 in Galesburg, Illinois.  She later married Donald F. Christianson on July 22, 1995 in Galesburg, Illinois.  He preceded her in death on October 21, 2007.

 

Darlene worked as a secretary for several schools and businesses including Office Systems in Galesburg for 11 years and later for KCCDD in Galesburg, retiring in 1995.

 

She attended First Christian Church in Galesburg and she was a member of the Moose Lodge 115 in Galesburg, Illinois. 

 

Darlene enjoyed traveling, bowling, walking, and just being outdoors. 

 

Darlene is survived by a sister, Virginia (Roy) Windom of Tennessee; two sons, Terry Lamb of Walker, Minnesota, and Mark (Sheila) Lamb of Galesburg, Illinois.  Along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters, Betty Keener and Lucille Rogers. 

 

Visitation will be held from 5:30 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.  on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home, Knoxville, Illinois.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s.  Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville, Illinois in charge of arrangements.
